IRENE PEREZ

Irene Pérez (Santander, 1996) is an artist who graduated in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (2018).
Her works portray a psychological portrait of society. Through both figurative and abstract styles, she represents the hidden reality that remains within each of us and that we are often unable to externalize.
Depression, anxiety, and frustration are some of the psychological states that the artist reflects through textures, often accompanied by the realistic figure of a man in a suit as a symbol of success and power. A way of making visible what is imperceptible to our eyes; all those negative emotions and feelings that are actually necessary and part of a process of evolution and learning.
Her work mainly focuses on the concepts of “Success” and “Resilience”. She explores the idea that falls and failures are as
inevitable as they are essential. “Accepting and confronting adverse situations in order to learn from them is also a triumph.”
